The Demon Slayer Manga Beats One Piece
Demon Slayer Outsold Eiichiro Oda's Manga

- The movie has broken many records
In a recent report, it was revealed that the Demon Slayer manga had sold more than 100,000 copies, helping it enter the top 10 of the Oricon rankings. Based on Oricon's rankings from 07/28 to 08/03, Demon Slayer was the second best-selling manga, only behind My Dress Up Darling. The latter sold 121,221 copies, while Demon Slayer had 112,783. Eiichiro Oda's One Piece had to settle for the fourth position behind the two aforementioned titles and The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity.
The return of Demon Slayer to the rankings highlights its fame in Japan. The manga ended back in 2020, and there have been no new volumes, which makes the achievement even more spectacular. It's certainly a noteworthy accomplishment, but chances are that it will drop to a lower position in the next ranking. It's also possible for Demon Slayer to leave the top 10 altogether.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movie is still performing strongly in Japanese theaters, so it's likely to break more records in the coming weeks. Furthermore, it is important to remember that the movie has yet to be released in other countries, and once that happens, fans will get a better idea of the overall number.
Demon Slayer has also reached another milestone in the last few weeks. It became one of the few manga to sell more than 200 million copies. This puts it ahead of other popular series, including Attack on Titan, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Kingdom, Jujutsu Kaisen, and My Hero Academia. After pulling ahead of these titles, Demon Slayer will be aiming to dethrone Naruto, Dragon Ball, Detective Conan, and Golgo 13. However, it primarily depends on the remainder of the two movies.
Demon Slayer Movie Trilogy Might End Before 2030
ufotable Has To Release Two More Movies
Fans already know that Demon Slayer is supposed to release three movies, which will cover the finale of the story. Out of the three, only the first has been released. At the moment, it's unknown when the remainder of the movies will be released, but fans might receive an update before the turn of the year.
According to previous reports, ufotable wants to conclude the trilogy by 2029 (which seems impossible), and it won't happen unless the studio's staff is working overtime. For now, there have been no official announcements, so the wait continues.
Demon Slayer is available to watch on Crunchyroll.
