Niantic has confirmed that Pokemon GO players will be receiving compensation for a major bug that impacted the recent Ultra Unlock Raid Day, affecting specific spawn rates for the main Pokemon. The mobile monster-catching game from Niantic has seen lots of big events throughout the summer, bringing a variety of new Pokemon to the game. Pokemon GO has brought everything from Hisuian Zorua and Zoroark to the Snom and Honedge evolutions lines to the game, culminating in the game's Pokemon GO Fest: "Max Finale" coming later this month. However, one particular event did not go quite as planned for Niantic.
This year's Pokemon GO Fest brought a variety of incentives to players as part of its "Ultra Unlock" campaign. The event encouraged players to complete a variety of Global Challenges to unlock more rewards, with more challenges offering different rewards. Players quickly smashed through each tier of the challenge to reach the max rewards, unlocking the Hisui Celebration, Steel and Scales, and a Raid Day for Origin Forme Dialga and Palkia. Now, Niantic is confirming that the Raid Day was the victim of a significant bug.
A post shared by Niantic's official support Twitter shares more details about the issues with Origin Raid Day. The post confirms that there was indeed an in-game bug with the "appearance rates of shiny Origin Forme Dialga and Palkia" within the event. Niantic reveals that it intends to compensate players for the issue at a later date, not directly confirming any form of rewards players will receive as a result of the bug. The event was originally supposed to feature higher spawn rates for the shiny variants of the two featured Legendary Pokemon.
Pokemon GO Compensating Players for Origin Raid Bug
The bug with Pokemon GO's newest Raid Day heavily impacts what was set to be one of the biggest parts of the Pokemon GO Fest celebration. Pokemon GO will host its previously-mentioned "Max Finale" later this month, welcoming the arrival of Eternatus to the mobile game. The introduction of Eternatus will come with the newest Max Battle being added to the game, with players tasked with squaring off against the imposing Eternamax form of Eternatus. Pokemon GO's Max Finale is set to kick off on August 18, running through August 23.
Beyond the grand finale of Pokemon GO Fest, Niantic looks to have plenty in store for fans of the mobile game. Niantic has already confirmed Flabebe as the featured Pokemon for September's Community Day, featuring different forms and colorations of Flabebe in different regions. Pokemon GO has even revealed the dates for the two following Community Days, getting players excited for both the October and November events. Niantic and Pokemon GO are primed to keep the fun rolling, with lots coming after Pokemon GO Fest concludes.
