See AllWhat are you playing this weekend? (August 8, 2025)
With Battlefield 6 opening up their beta, I can imagine there will be a lot of us playing it! I think I'll continue with Tales of the Shire for now, but I'm eyeing off FINALLY starting Baldur's Gate 3 properly.
Any puzzle/word game recommendations?
I'm always on the lookout for word/puzzle games that I can play to unwind. I love diving into the daily NY Times puzzles, like Wordle and Connections, but I do enjoy checking out something new from time to time. What's a good puzzle/word game to break your day up?
What do you consider to be the most devastating game cancelation ever?
So many great titles never made it to the shelves, but there's been some real heartbreakers over the years. Games like Titanfall 3 certainly come to mind, but I daresay there's a few other big ones locked away in my repressed memories!
Are there any games that make you think "I can't believe this is free"?
I got introduced to Palia by a friend and, man, I absolutely cannot believe it's free. Sure, there are purchase options for things like cosmetics, but the fact you can get a full experience without spending any money is crazy to me. Props to Singularity Six, they're doing some great things with Palia.
Are you playing Tales of the Shire?
I was hopeful that this game would scratch all the Hobbit-life itches, and so far I've been really happy with how the game is panning out! I wish the dialogue had vocals to back it and I hope we get multiplayer in the future, but all in all I'm having fun with it!
What are you playing this weekend? (August 1, 2025)
I had a marathon session of Tales of the Shire the other day and am keen to continue that! What are you firing up on your gaming system for the weekend?

Promise Mascot Agency
The game is weird, wacky, and fun! I didn't expect to be so invested in such a unique cast, but the story was surprisingly deep. It didn't necessarily wow me with it's gameplay and art style, but that's not to say they weren't off-putting. It was a game with a clear identity and it managed to maintain it very well.
I found the Mascot Help Events to be a liiiittttle tedious after a while, but once you figure out how to get a decent cash flow, you can grab a bunch of Help Items to reduce how invasive the events get1

Ghost of Tsushima
I don't know what to tell you, man, it's just a beautiful game. It had sat in my backlog collecting dust for far too long, and the only thing I'm disappointed about was waiting so long to experience it! Terrific story, gorgeous world, and combat was so fluid. Absolutely loved it and absolutely cannot wait for Yotei!

Two Point Museum
I'm not usually one to get into this genre, but I found myself losing track of time playing Two Point Museum! It struck a really great balance of humor, gameplay, and enough variety to keep me interested with the multiple museum themes. Really solid game and a great way to switch off from the outside world and just get lost in an alternative life as a museum curator!

Atomfall
Atomfall's Lead system won't be for everyone, but I really enjoyed it! The ability to more or less tell the story you way was really unique and I hope it's applied in other games. With that said, I did find myself feeling that it didn't 100% hit its potential. Combat, exploration, and story were all solid, but not quite enough to really blow me away. Nonetheless, I enjoyed Atomfall and hope to see more of it in the future!

Secret Agent Clank
This is the one game I most fondly remember playing on PSP! It was great to experience a Clank-centered story, but it did lack the depth of a R&C franchise addition.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3
The thrill of discovering you can empty the pool on the cruise ship and eventually getting the long-sought after high score will live in my heart forever. Thanks for the memories, Mr. Hawk!

Mario Kart 64
What a notoriously frustrating but addictive game 😂 from game nights with my friends to playing with my cousins, Mario Kart goes hand-in-hand with some great memories of playing couch co-op

Crash Nitro Kart
The story in this was surprisingly deep for a racing game! I didn't expect such a broad roster and an introduction of new characters, but they complemented the gameplay and various imaginative racetracks beautifully

How to Place Furniture in Tales of the Shire (& How to Move It)
Hey Alleigh! I don't have one personally, but I believe if you tap on the screen it should bring up the option to use a virtual touch pad, doesn't it? If that's the case, hold the touch pad and it should open decoration mode for you

I think they're just pushing Angel more this time around, since she's the cover athlete. Clark is certainly worthy of being in previews, but she does get quite a lot of attention as it is. She might be featured in the next round of marketing, who knows!
