MoreWhat is the appeal of soulslike games?
I'm going to have to be honest here, I'm not a huge fan of the soulslike genre. I've tried a few titles, from Bloodborne to Wuchang Fallen Feathers. The only ones I ever finished were Jedi Fallen Order and Survivor on low difficulty settings. I know a lot of people love the genre but I often end up finding it more frustrating than fun. So here are some of the things that commonly frustrate me with games I've played in the genre: Respawning enemies: Okay, so you defeat a bunch of really difficult enemies and you finally reach a point where you can rest. Great, except now you've just undone your progress by respawning every enemy you just defeated. Now you've got to go through the exact same enemies all over again. It gets a bit tedious. Hefty difficulty spike: The soulslike genre is most often characters by its brutal difficulty, its combat that's designed to be as overpowering as possible. While I get that it's not meant to be easy, I can't help feeling like a lot of soulslike games
Why is everyone so critical of Monster Hunter Wilds?
This is uncharted waters for Capcom they need to think on how improve the slinger in wilds. In monster Hunter worlds, they had clutch claw and let's not forget that when investors get impatient games get released unfinished or not at all or buggy as hell. remember spring, summer, fall. and winter events are on the way.
Half of Death Stranding's cast need their own game
Don't get me wrong, it's been great seeing Sam Bridges again in Death Stranding 2, even if it got a bit weird. But the more I play, the more I notice just how detailed and complex the series' roster is. There's a whole interesting cast that has its own sets of quirks, skills, and utilities, and the more I start to wonder about the potential of making some of them playable. My first thought would be Fragile. She's such a big part of both games and has a pretty wild story of her own. She's also supposed to be a porter, so a Fragile game could do something similar to Death Stranding, and she has a few curious abilities. I can't help wondering if her teleportation ability could be an interesting game mechanic. An ability to jump between otherwise inaccessible spots but simultaneously having to think critically about when because of limits on what you can take with you. But I'm starting to wonder about some of the others as well. Upon meeting Rainy in Death Stranding 2, I kinda wonder if
What are you playing this weekend? (July 25, 2025)
I'm gearing up for Tales of the Shire next week, so in the meantime I think I'll play something cozy!
Are there any Call of Duty maps that just make you want to quit?
It's been a while since I've fired up CoD on my console, but I remember always dreading a few maps when they got picked. The one that most springs to mind is Derail from...I think MW3? I am not a skilled sniper and seemingly an easy target 😂
What has been the hardest boss you've fought from a 2025 game?
So far in 2025, the hardest boss I've taken on has been Simon from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. I have yet to actually beat him, but I did manage to take down the Roaring Knight in Deltarune!
Which Nod-Krai character are you most excited for?
I'm most excited for Varka and Alice. I can't believe they've finally been revealed! Here's the full list of revealed characters in the most recent trailer tease: - Aino - Alice - Columbina - Durin - Flins - Ineffa - Jahoda - Lauma - Nefer - Nicole - Sandrone - Varka

A Twist on the Military Shooter I'm Surprised Hasn't Been Done
I've been throwing around this idea for a while, and since military shooters are EVERYWHERE, I've been wondering if it could be an interesting way to shake up the genre. I first conceived this as an idea for a Call of Duty campaign, but now I'm thinking it could work for some others- maybe Halo or even a Warhammer 40k title. So a lot of military shooters tend to pick a side and cast you as a soldier. They may add moral ambiguity by casting the protagonists as anti-heroes and showing them committing unethical actions, but usually, there's a sense that the side you're fighting is far worse. But what if we changed that dynamic. Here's my idea. What about a game where you play both sides of a conflict? And I don't just mean like Call of Duty multiplayer where factions are used to distinguish teams. I mean like a story-driven campaign that alternates between characters on both sides of an armed conflict. You play as soldiers on both sides and get invested in characters on each one. You l
Star Wars Outlaws deserves a second chance
When I first heard about Star Wars Outlaws i was very excited that, instead of using the force light sabers, we use blasters, our wits, strategies and teamwork with other friends. I will admit when it first came out. There were some problems like I couldn't keep my blaster. I found on the ground or being stealthy was too hard but after the updates, Star Wars Outlaws became better and more fun to play. I'm thankful I bought it any other dlcs or a nice touch to it. I pray more dlc's come out in the future it's challenging an exciting.
Seeing Karl Urban in the MK 2 trailer just makes me think of Butcher from The Boys
I love Karl Urban, especially with how he brought Butcher to life in The Boys, but I'm not sure how I feel about him as Johnny Cage just yet. It's a bit of a shift from how we usually see Cage in the Mortal Kombat games, so this could be a good thing, but he does appear to lack that goofy side of Cage we know and love.
What are you playing this weekend? (July 18, 2025)
I might dive into some Palia with friends this weekend, but I've also been chomping at the bit to relive my childhood via Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4, so I'll probably try to make some time for that as well!
What constitutes a superhero?
I saw James Gunn recently mention that the Guardians of the Galaxy films weren't really superhero movies, but his latest Superman project is. What constitutes a superhero? He mentions that the Guardians were space travellers without powers outside of the norm for their species and there's no costumes etc, but what about Rocket? He's supposed to just be a raccoon, and they wear a uniform. When it comes to Superman, doesn't he fall in the same category as the Guardians? He's not human either! What would you class as a superhero? It seems, in some regard, that the likes of Batman, Iron Man, Hawkeye, or Black Widow wouldn't actually be superheroes.

What additional content are you hoping to see in the Harry Potter series?
Naturally, given the time constraints, there was a lot of content from the Harry Potter books that didn't make it to the films. With a lot more breathing room, there should be a ton of additional parts inserted into the series. Personally, I'm looking forward to hopefully seeing Hermione's efforts as an activist for house elves. It was a surprisingly deep side plot!
I love Disney Dreamlight Valley!
Some glitches, but updates are very common so expected, the gameplay itself is exciting and sometimes challenging. It ignites an old fuel inside me from my childhood, which I had long forgotten. Overall would recommend this to everyone. Similar to stardew valley and animal crossing.
Do you think Tales of the Shire will have LOTR cameos?
It's obvious that Gandalf will be a part of the Tales of the Shire experience, but I wonder if they can squeeze a few extras in. I'm excited for the release. It should be a great, refreshing take on Middle Earth!

What are you playing this weekend? (July 11, 2025)
I'm going to be juggling between DC: Dark Legion on mobile and a bit of Palia. What have you got in store?
What's the appeal of The Sims?
I've never really had a chance to check out The Sims, but I know how incredibly popular it is. What am I missing? What's the appeal?
